Data Engineer (SSIS & Azure Data Factory) - Contract role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Azure Data Factory (ADF). The role involves designing, developing, migrating, and supporting enterprise-grade ETL and data integration solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in modernizing data pipelines and enabling seamless data movement across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, maintain, and optimize SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)
Migrate and orchestrate existing SSIS workloads using Azure Data Factory (ADF), including SSIS Integration Runtime where applicable
Build and manage ADF pipelines, datasets, linked services, and triggers
Integrate data from multiple sources such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, Data Lake, Blob Storage, APIs, and file systems
Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data pipeline performance, reliability, and scalability
Implement robust logging, error handling, and monitoring frameworks across SSIS and ADF solutions
Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and application teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Support CI/CD pipelines and version control for data integration assets
Ensure adherence to data security, governance, and data quality standards
Required Skills & Experience
Strong English communication skills with the ability to work directly with US-based teams
Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Proven expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), including orchestration of SSIS packages
Strong proficiency in SQL Server / T-SQL for data validation and transformations
Experience with cloud and hybrid data integration environments
Familiarity with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Azure Data Lake)
Ability to troubleshoot complex ETL and data pipeline issues
Good understanding of ETL best practices, performance tuning, and data quality management
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical stakeholders)
Ability to work independently as well as in distributed/global teams
Strong ownership mindset with a delivery-focused approach
