Senior Software Engineer - AI, Integration & Cloud
InnoWave is looking for a dynamic, agile person, good communication skills to complete our team. If you're based in Portugal, this might be the opportunity for you!
Senior Software Engineer
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in C#/.NET 8+, and in Go or Python as the stack diversifies.
Develop orchestration flows across APIs, queues, services, and data sources.
Containerize services and deploy via Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code, keeping provider-specific coupling contained and replaceable.
Help evaluate self-hostable alternatives to managed AWS services, and contribute to cutover and parity validation during any transition.
Design relational schemas, indexes, and queries across SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
Contribute to conversion, migration, and self-managed PostgreSQL operations.
Implement LLM use cases (currently Claude), build MCP servers and secure tool integrations, and create AI agent workflows, including how these operate under tighter data-residency constraints.
Support production systems: debugging, monitoring, incident response, and reliability work.
Work with product, architecture, and platform teams, and with the Senior Quality Engineer.
Required Skills
Degree in Computer Science or in similar areas.
Senior-level experience building and running backend services and APIs that real users depend on.
Deep proficiency in C#/.NET (8+).
Demonstrated ability to become effective in another language, Go and Python being the likely directions.
Comfortable developing and running services on Linux: shell, container runtimes, and reading logs and metrics outside of CloudWatch.
Strong SQL and relational data modelling, comfortable with PostgreSQL.
Containers, and exposure to an orchestration platform such as Kubernetes.
Practical AWS experience, and an understanding of where managed-service convenience becomes lock-in.
Routine use of AI coding tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar), with a clear view of where they help and where they don't.
Fluent in English - written and spoken (mandatory).
Availability to work in an Hybrid model in one of our offices.
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of JavaScript/Typescript.
Sustained hands-on work in Go or Python on a system in real use, rather than a side project.
Deeper Linux and Kubernetes operations: system, service hardening, self-hosted observability, and running clusters rather than only deploying onto them.
PostgreSQL depth: migration from SQL Server including T-SQL and stored procedure conversion, and self-managed operations rather than RDS/Aurora consumption only.
Running workloads on-premises or in a private cloud, or taking a service through a platform migration.
Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Crossplane), ideally against more than one target rather than AWS resources only.
Messaging and event infrastructure: Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, or similar.
Integrating LLM APIs into production: familiarity with MCP, tool use, or agent frameworks.
Telco experience: BSS/OSS, provisioning, billing, or network data.
