Senior Data Engineer
Responsibilities
Design and implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines and Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Work with structured and unstructured data.
Analyze data and generate insights to support decision-making.
Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Translate business needs into data solutions.
Develop dashboards and reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Provide technical direction and mentor engineering teams.
Skills
Degree in Computer Science or in similar areas.
6+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technology field.
3+ years of experience in a Technical Lead / Lead Engineer role, with demonstrated experience providing technical direction and mentoring engineering teams.
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, including Databricks Jobs/Workflows, Notebooks, SQL Warehouses, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
Strong experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines and Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Strong SQL, Python, and PySpark skills, with experience in data transformation, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and scalable data processing.
Solid experience with Azure DevOps, including Git, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
Experience with Databricks deployment and environment promotion across Development, QA, and Production environments using Azure DevOps.
Strong technical and team leadership skills, including mentoring, technical guidance, code and design reviews, and supporting the professional development of team members.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Ability to work effectively in an international, distributed team and confidently lead technical discussions with English-speaking stakeholders.
Proactive, accountable, pragmatic, and comfortable taking ownership of technical decisions and delivery outcomes.
Fluent in English - written and spoken (mandatory).
Nice to Have
Databricks certifications.
Experience with enterprise-scale data platforms and high-volume data processing.
Experience with infrastructure/configuration automation and DevOps best practices.
Experience working in large international organizations or US-based projects.
Experience developing and supporting Databricks Apps and solutions within the Databricks platform.
Good understanding of data governance, security, access control, data quality, and enterprise data platform best practices.
